Wimmer Eyes First Race at Jefferson Speedway

With his 6th place finish at Madison International Speedway, Chris Wimmer moves up to ninth place in the ASA Midwest Tour standings. Now he embarks on unchartered waters.  For the first time in his race career, Wimmer hits the track at Jefferson Speedway in Cambridge, WI.  Ive heard a lot of different things about it, says Wimmer, Im really excited to run there though.  Its always fun to get race on new tracks and try to learn them as fast as you can.

Jefferson Speedway marks the first of five tracks where Wimmer has never run a race.  But with the great crop of drivers the ASA Midwest Tour draws, Wimmer should have no problem finding advice.  The guys that run this tour have a lot of experience and Im sure they would be willing to help me with anything I need, says Wimmer.

Wimmer thanks his associate sponsors Phillys Subs and Gyros, Cloverbelt Credit Union and FlipSide Graphics of Wausau, Nelson Repair LLC of Lodi, and Leos Upper Dells Bar out of Lyndon Station.  The search continues for primary sponsorship, but meanwhile Wimmer and his crew work hard to stay competitive.  Im really happy to be in the top ten in points just two races in to the season, says Wimmer, Now its important to stay there.  My friend Dave Mayer and I put in long hours trying to make sure that happens.

Practice begins at 1:00 pm with qualifying at 5:00pm. Racing begins at 6:30 at Jefferson Speedway Saturday evening.  Ticket prices start at $10 and can be purchased at the track.
